FAQs

Charter schools are tuition-free, open enrollment public schools. We have no district or catchment zones but instead can enroll any student who lives in Indiana. Charter schools have increased autonomy, ability to make curricular, financial, and hiring decisions, and increased accountability. Circle City Prep is authorized by the Indiana Charter School Board.

Any student enrolling in Kindergarten (5 years-old by September 1, 2020), 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 6th grade can attend Circle City Prep.

For the 2022-2023 school year, we are currently enrolling scholars for Kindergarten, 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, 3rd Grade, 4th Grade, 5th Grade, and 6th Grade. We will add a new grade level each year until we are a full K-8 school serving just over 500 scholars and families. Seats are available on a first come, first served basis.

All members of the Circle City Prep staff and community deeply believe that all our scholars can be on a path to college. We provide a small, academically rigorous environment to ensure that your child is reading and performing math at or above grade-level. Our scholars receive double the amount of literacy instruction and math instruction everyday as well as targeted tutoring during the school day. Our families are all part of our Circle City Prep Family and receive frequent communication from their child’s teacher in addition to home visits before the start of school, in-person conferences and bi-monthly parent university nights and parent action councils. Finally, our scholars participate in daily recess and enrichment classes (art, music, PE).

While Circle City Prep does NOT provide transportation, our extended schedule and community partnerships can help ease the burden for some of our families. Circle City Prep opens its doors at 7:30 am and dismisses at 3:30 pm for K-4 and 4:00 pm for the middle school (1:00 pm dismissal for all grades on Fridays). If you are looking for before or after-school care including transportation to and from CCP, we recommend – Jaffe’s Place of Learning, SafeCare Development Center, Little Steps Childcare, and Zetta’s Place.

Our strict uniform code allows our scholars to focus on their academics rather than their outfits. Our scholars wear grey Circle City Prep polos, khaki bottoms, and closed toed tennis shoes. In colder weather, we have Circle City Prep cardigans available for purchase as well. You can check out more information on our uniform page.

The Circle City Prep school day runs from 7:30am-4:00pm Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, in order to allow our teachers and staff to participate in weekly professional development trainings, our scholars are dismissed at 1pm.

Doors open at 7:30am and scholars are considered tardy if they arrive later than 7:45am.
