Do you live in any of the following situations?
Children and youth are guaranteed enrollment in school by the Federal McKinney-Vento Act and Indiana state law if they live in any of these situations:

- In a house or apartment with more than one family due to loss of housing or economic hardship
- With friends or family because the student is a runaway or unaccompanied youth
- In housing that lacks electricity, water, heat, or proper structure
- In a shelter (family, domestic violence, or youth shelter or transitional living program)
- In a motel, hotel, or weekly rate housing
- In an abandoned building, in a car, at a campground, or on the streets

- Eligible children and youth have a right to:
- Enroll in school immediately even without normally required documents, such as: Proof of residency, immunization/health records, school records, legal guardianship papers
- Participate fully in all school activities and programs for which the student is eligible
- Continue to attend the school in which the student was last enrolled, even if you have moved away from the schools’ attendance area provided it is in the student’s best interest
- Receive transportation to and from the school of origin if it is requested
- Get help with school supplies, school uniforms, technology, or other needs
- Extra support for youth who are on their own living away from their parents/guardians
- Referrals to other needed services so the student can attend and participate fully in school
- Eligible children and youth have a right to:
